Jacqui Brown is an Australian children's author and freelance writer.


Jacqui is the creator of the picture book series Miss Bobby-Socks and Friends.  As an animal lover, she donates a portion of all sales from Miss Bobby-Socks and the Giant Ball of String to Animal Welfare League NSW to help homeless cats and puppies.  She also does regular readings of her picture book at local pre-schools and kindergartens, and is keen to promote literacy and a love of reading in all children. 


Currently, Jacqui is completing her first book for middle-grade children, Young Warrior (working title).


As a freelance writer, editor and proofreader, she loves to spend her day playing with words.  Most recently she worked with a Dubai agency on an annual catalogue for an international baby shop.


Jacqui holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in Pharmacology and Physiology from University of NSW, and is currently understaking a Master of Creative Writing at Macquarie University.  She is an avid reader, a lover of science, and a student of Hapkido.  She lives in Freshwater with her husband, Phil, and her cat, Softie.
